I’m officially back! 2016 started off being such a busy year for me, working and schooling has been crazy. Luckily I was fortunate enough to get away this past week. My friend and I met and within two months right away knew we’d be travel buddies. I really had wanted to go to Utah and Arizona for such a long time; hiking is something I could do all day everyday so I KNEW I had to eventually make this trip.
Feb 28: We were off. Our itinerary for the next week was going to be crazy. Moving from place to place. But I love that kind of rush.
We landed safely in Nevada that afternoon and headed straight to our hotel, changed and decided to go out to the streets of Vegas, afterwards came back to sleep to start our adventure the next day.
Feb 29: Woke up, ate breakfast, and started on our 2hr voyage. We arrived at 12:30pm and checked into the hotel we would be staying at for the next two nights “Travelodge”. Overall the stay was very delightful, clean and just what we needed since we wouldn’t be spending so much time there anyway.
After moving into our room, we headed out to Zion National Park. This was 30mins away from where we were staying. Once we got there we decided to drive around the rest of the day, going to every lookout point and taking lots of pictures because how could we not! Tomorrow we would return and finally hit the hiking trails, exciting! Zion was quickly becoming one of the most beautiful places I had seen. Some how you were in the desert but you still had those beautiful mountains all around you.
Oh this place, stealing pieces of my heart.
Stay tuned,
Maritza, xo.
